Broadcastvision Cable Box Storage System

Broadcastvision Entertainment -https://broadcastvision.com – releases their newest product that solves the problems concerning storing and concealing cable boxes in front of cardio equipment.

The Broadcastvision Entertainment Cable Box Storage System (BVE-CBSS) can be purchased as a standalone system or additional raceway, and device boxes can be added.  The storage unit is available in slate grey, and the track covers are available in slate grey or brushed aluminum.  The complete unit is very low profile and is only 24” long, 6” wide, and 4.5” high. The box is designed to store the smaller DTA boxes recommended by most major cable providers.  The system is very flexible, and it includes a two-gang device box, allowing you to choose the receptacles needed.  It also has a brushed insert at the top of the cable box enclosure, allowing you to run multiple cable types.  In addition to storing cable boxes, the system can also store extenders and the popular CAB (console adapter box) from Broadcastvision Entertainment.

The CAB (Console Adapter Box) provides club owners the flexibility, increased channel line-up, and cost savings of set-top box operation and frees exercisers from the need to use hand-held remote controls.  Developed in 2011, the CAB is compatible with major brand cardio equipment and allows the cardio equipment TV controls to operate the individual cable box.  “Our CAB solution solves a big problem in the fitness industry with the control of cable boxes but the storage of cable boxes has been a challenge for the majority of fitness centers,” says Mark Blake, COO of Broadcastvision Entertainment. “Our Cable Box Storage System is very low profile, and not only solves the problem with protecting and hiding the DTA cable boxes but is also designed to store our CAB product and extenders if they are needed. The system is also UL approved,” says Blake.

Broadcastvision is your trusted source for high quality, commercial-grade fitness entertainment products.  Our product line includes AudioFetch (TV audio to Apple and Android smartphones), CAB for cable, satellite, and IPTV set-top box control, Universal Personal Screen Controller, 863MHz / 900MHz Wireless, FM Wireless, Large Screen TVs and Mounts, Sound Systems, Digital Signage, Branded Music and Messaging, and Personal Viewing Screens.

DRIVE-INS: NOT JUST FOR MOVIES ANYMORE

AudioFetch Blog Header Creative Drive In Events 1
Creative Drive In Events

Drive-ins are the hot trend this summer due to COVID-19 and the need for social distancing restrictions. And while the drive-in concept is certainly nothing new, we’re seeing people and organizations get creative with their use of wireless audio streaming technology to provide safer entertainment options, bring communities together and support national and local talent.

Following are five creative uses of the drive-in concept for non-film entertainment:

DRIVE-IN COMEDY SHOWS

While gathering indoors in large groups may be forbidden, there are no restrictions on laughter. Let’s face it, we could also use some chuckles right now (even if only to cover up the tears!).

So we’re encouraged to see comedians and comedy organizations pushing on with drive-in comedy shows. North Miami Beach transformed their parking lot into a comedy club last weekend for “The Big Screen Comedy Drive-In Show,” featuring local hilarious acts such as El Caballo, Cisco Duran and Gene Harding.

Broadcastvision Live Entertainment
Drive In Live Entertainment – Comedy

More well-known comedians are getting in on the drive-in trend, too. The ever-outrageous and -uproarious Burt Kreischer held six drive-in comedy shows earlier this summer, which were so successful, he’s preparing to launch a second leg of the tour. And when we say successful, we mean successful. Those six shows alone grossed more than $400K with nearly 8,000 in attendance!

DRIVE-IN DRAG SHOWS

After a no-doubt rough week of working from home, you can now see your favorite drag queens werking from a parking lot!

RuPaul’s Drag Race is hosting “Drive-N-Drag” shows in parking lots across the US. The opening show of the tour was held at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey in mid-July. Other Drive-In Drag shows will be held in LA, Chicago, Seattle, and DC/Baltimore.

DRIVE-IN SPORTS VIEWING

Sports teams haven’t taken to the drive-in concept as quickly as other industries, but a few industrious teams are finally getting on board. Like the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team. Fans can drive-in viewing parties in the team’s Schaumburg Boomers Stadium parking lot.

We hope to see more sports teams following suit with drive-in audio events in the coming weeks. (We’re looking at you Nittany Lions! Sincerely, the PSU alums at AudioFetch!).

DRIVE-IN MUSIC FESTIVALS

After every music tour and festival was cancelled earlier this year, we were ready to sit this summer out. Because we all know you can’t have summer without music festivals! Thankfully, some inventive and resilient folks are carrying the tune with drive-in music festivals.

These festivals are playing out big and small across the globe, catering to just about every music genre and taste you can imagine.

Drive In Music Festivals
Drive In Music Festivals

On the big scale, there’s the hip hop and R&B focused “Drive-In Fest” at Soldier Field featuring Lloyd, Do or Die and Bobby V.

On the small scale, there are countless drive-in music festivals and concerts happening at local venues around the world. Check your local events calendars or search for something like “drive-in music near me” to find great options like these in MichiganSacramento or Denver.

For a little bit of the big and the small, there’s Garth Brooks, whose concert was streamed to 300+ drive-in theaters in small towns across the US.

DRIVE-IN DISCOS

It should probably come as no surprise that Germany pioneered the concept of the Drive-In Disco. The first large events were hosted by Club Index, a family-run nightclub in the small German town Schüttorf, throughout May. Since then, Drive-In Discos, Drive-In Dance Parties, and Drive-In Raves have been popping up in the parking lots of nightclubs and stadiums around the globe.

Barter Theatre to host a drive-in movie concept for their live performances, using the FM transmitter from Broadcastvision Entertainment.

Barter Theatre, located in Abingdon, Virginia, opened on June 10, 1933, making it the nation’s longest-running professional theatre. In 1933, when the country was in the middle of The Great Depression, spare money for a theatre ticket was not easy to come by. Robert Porterfield, the founder of the theatre, offered a unique solution to allow locals to attend shows. Rather than traditional money, patrons could pay for admission to the theatre by bartering food, livestock, or other goods. For 40 cents or the equivalent in bartered goods, anyone could see a show. In 1946, Barter Theatre was designated as the State Theatre of Virginia. Today, Barter is one of the last year-round professional resident repertory theaters remaining in the United States.  Many well-known stars of stage, screen, and television have performed early in their careers at Barter, including Gregory Peck, Ernest Borgnine, Patricia Neal, Ned Beatty, Hume Cronyn, Gary Collins, Frances Fisher, Larry Linville, John Glover, Jim Varney, and Wayne Knight. Will Bigham, the 2007 winner of On the Lot, acted at Barter Theatre for several years.

Barter Theatre Drive-In Movie Layout

The current epidemic has created yet another challenge, but Barter Theatre is adapting and using technology to keep its doors open.  Tony Angelini, Resident Sound Designer of Barter Theatre, reached out to Mark Blake, Chief Operating Officer at Broadcastvision Entertainment to learn more about the FM transmitter (AXSFMTD) and how it could be used to host a drive-in movie concept for their live performances.  Tony wanted to create a safe and easy way for people to attend live performances, and the FM transmitter was the solution.

The AXSFMTD is very easy to set up and use.  You simply connect it to the audio output of your audio device; for example, a soundboard, mixer, projector, TV, etc., plug it in for power and then program the FM station using the easy-to-read LED display.  Broadcastvision recommends selecting FM stations that are not currently being used by local radio stations, so there is no interference.  The easiest way to find an available radio station is to do a channel search in the area where you will be hosting the service using your car radio.  Simply scroll from 88.1 up to 107.9, and write down all the stations that have complete static (white noise).  These are the stations that are available for use in your area.  The other key factor in getting a quality signal is installing the transmitter at least seven feet from the ground since it’s much easier for the signal to travel downward.

Due to the size of their lot, Barter Theatre decided to purchase two FM transmitters and broadcast on two separate FM radio stations that customers can tune to depending on where they are located on the lot.  In addition to using FM transmitters to broadcast the audio, they are also simulcasting the performance on a large screen.

Reserve your spot for July 14th, 2020

Barter Theatre is calling their drive-in event the “Barter at the Moonlight Drive-In,” and their first production will be The Wizard of Oz on July 14, 2020.  For more information about Barter Theatre and their upcoming productions, CLICK HERE.  For more information about the FM transmitter, CLICK HERE to contact Broadcastvision Entertainment.

Understanding Wire Requirements for Cardio Equipment

As cardio equipment becomes more innovative , it’s more important than ever to understand the infrastructure required for a seamless installation and to avoid costly mistakes. Even though the technology is constantly evolving, there are a few critical pieces of knowledge that can save a lot of money in the long term.

Since 2011, cable companies have been evolving how their signal is delivered to cardio equipment.  In the past, it was rather simple, but due to cable companies changing to digital, a set-top box is often required for each piece of equipment.  You can install a set-top box for each piece of cardio equipment or you can choose a limited number of channels to offer by installing modulating equipment.

The benefits of a cable, satellite or IPTV box for each piece of cardio equipment is that the exerciser will have access to the entire channel line-up that is part of your subscription.  To eliminate the battery-operated remote control to change channels on the set-top box, you can purchase console adapter boxes that allow the controls on the console to be used.  Most of the cardio equipment brands have updated their technology to allow this control.  In contrast to individual cable, satellite & IPTV boxes, a modulated system is usually limited to a number of channels due to the higher hardware and installation costs of the system.

Wiring requirements vary depending on the features available on the cardio equipment, but there are generally three things that could be required; Internet, TV signal, and IR control (for controlling set-top boxes).  If you are building a new club or upgrading your existing club, the ideal wiring set up would be one COAX and three CAT6 cables to each piece of cardio equipment.  This may seem like a lot of cables so let’s define it further.

COAX is used for sending the TV signal and there is still a large percentage of cardio equipment and set-top boxes that rely on this connection.  There is talk that CAT6 will eventually replace COAX cable but, in order for this to happen, the cardio equipment must have an HDMI input.  If your cardio equipment is going to have internet, and your club will have more than eight to ten pieces of cardio, then hardwiring using a CAT6 cable is recommended. The other CAT6 cable would be used to control a cable, satellite or IPTV box if you choose to locate the set-top box away from the cardio equipment.

Review:

COAX cable – Used for TV signal if the cardio equipment does not have HDMI inputs.

CAT6 – Used with an extender for TV signal if the cardio equipment has HDMI inputs.

CAT6 – Used for Internet if the cardio equipment has internet capability.

CAT6 – Used with a console adapter box to control a cable or satellite box when it’s located away from the cardio equipment.

If you don’t have the ability to run the number of cables as noted above, then your option is to purchase an extender that would allow for multiple types of signal to be sent through a single CAT6 cable.  These extenders range in price depending on the length of the run and the number of signal types you are pushing through a CAT6 cable.

Large Screen TVs Make a Comeback Due to Cost and New Smartphone Technology

In the past, fitness clubs would either offer cardio equipment with personal viewing screens, or overhead TVs, and it was rare to see both being offered.  The increase in smartphone usage is definitely making an impact on the fitness industry, and club owners are adapting to it.  In 2017, the number of smartphone users in the United States was estimated at 224 million; by 2022, it to exceed 270 million.

Large screen TVs have also dramatically decreased in price over the years. They are not only much more affordable but also easier to install.  Some of you may remember the days when those heavy CRT TVs were cutting edge.  A 25” CRT TV weighed more than one hundred pounds and required at least three people to install it, requiring a durable mount and, if you were hanging the TVs, a lift of some sort.  Not only were the TVs expensive, but the overall cost once you included mounting hardware and labor, was a serious investment.  Compare that to today’s technology, where a 50” LED TV only weighs on average thirty pounds and, because of its lighter weight, doesn’t require the costly mounting hardware or the same amount of labor hours for installation.  The current cost of a 50” TV is less than $300.00 for a consumer model; commercial models will cost you on average $700.00.  The reason for the difference in price between the consumer and commercial models comes down to features and durability.  The commercial models are designed to run between seventeen and twenty-four hours a day, have longer warranties, a better picture, and more features.

“In the past six months, we have seen a substantial increase with fitness clubs installing large screen TVs, along with cardio equipment with built-in TVs/Entertainment,” says Mark Blake, COO of Broadcastvision Entertainment.   The current trend is to purchase cardio equipment with built-in or attached entertainment, and to also install three to four large screen TVs throughout the club. Depending on the size of the facility, a few TVs will be installed in the cardio area and also throughout the free-weight and circuit training areas.  In order to allow the members access to the audio from these large screen TVs, club owners are installing new technology that is Wi-Fi based.  This new technology called AudioFetch will send the audio from any of the TVs to an app that is downloaded on the user’s smartphone or tablet.  This allows the members to tune into any of the TVs to listen to the audio with no restrictions.  “Fitness clubs realize the importance of keeping their members entertained, both on the cardio equipment and throughout the club.  Since this new technology allows the members to listen to the large screen TVs using their smartphones, they are not restricted to the cardio area, and they can roam around the entire club”, says Blake.

In addition to the freedom that AudioFetch creates for the members, the fitness club can also customize the app with their logo and brand colors, integrate it easily into their app, and also advertise on the app.

Broadcastvision Entertainment Launches Affordable Energy-Saving 19” LED Personal Viewing Screen

The new Cardio TV from Broadcastvision is a 19” LED with HDMI and COAX inputs

Broadcastvision Entertainment (https://broadcastvision.com) launches the new, affordable 19” HD LED personal viewing widescreen, AXS19HD3.  The AXS19HD3 has HDMI and COAX inputs and securely attaches to existing cardio equipment mounts, telescopic stands, or ceiling/wall mounts.  Designed for cardio equipment, the AXS19HD3 is the perfect solution for clubs to add affordable entertainment to cardio equipment or to replace existing cardio TVs.

The AXS19HD3 is part of the Axcess line of fitness entertainment products and can be controlled using the Console Adapter Box (CAB) or the versatile Axcess Universal Controller.  “If the club owner wants to update their existing TVs on their cardio equipment with our new 19” TV, the members will enjoy a much better viewing experience, and the TV can be controlled using the existing TV controls on the cardio equipment when using our CAB device,” says Mark Blake, COO of Broadcastvision Entertainment. “If an attached controller were used instead to operate the TV, then our attached ten-key Universal Controller would be used,” adds Blake.  In addition to TV control options, both the CAB and the Universal Controller can control individual cable, satellite, or IPTV set-top boxes.  This eliminates burdensome handheld remote controls and expensive modulation or MDTA Multiplexor systems. The exerciser obtains audio and controls the personal viewing screen exclusively through the Axcess Universal Controller.

The AXS19HD3 is an LED TV and uses energy-efficient light-emitting diodes (LED) for backlighting. LED TVs consume less power than cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) used in traditional LCD televisions and power savings are typically 20-30%.  The Axcess Universal Controller also has an energy-saving auto-off feature that you can enable.  This will not only save energy but will increase the life span of the TV.

Broadcastvision is your trusted manufacturer for high quality, commercial-grade fitness entertainment products including AudioFetch (TV audio to Apple and Android smartphones), CAB for cable, satellite and IPTV set-top box control, Axcess Universal Personal Screen Controller, 863MHz / 900MHz Wireless, FM Wireless, Large Screen TVs and Mounts, Sound Systems, Digital Signage, Branded Music and Messaging and Personal Viewing Screens.
